My Story
The best thing about being a makeup artist is how it makes people feel. I'm a textbook empath, and two decades in this industry have taught me as much about people as they have about products. I understand the pressure talent is under before stepping onto a red carpet or in front of a camera, so I see it as part of my job to create a calm space where they can mentally prepare and feel like the best version of themselves.
That care naturally extends to animals and the planet, which is why my kit is entirely cruelty-free and vegan, with a strong focus on clean products. After years of working on countless faces and trying thousands of products, I can promise you there are brilliant ethical options out there. No compromise needed.

I've known I wanted to be a makeup artist since I was 11. It started with special effects: the blood, the gore and all that creativity. I even made my friends look pale and poorly so they could skip science class!
They tell you to pick one area of the industry and stick to it. I said yes to everything instead, and it's given me experiences I never knew were possible: working with the Army around the world, Marvel films, leading makeup teams at Paris Fashion Week, global campaigns for The Body Shop, BBC dramas, cooking shows, magazine covers and more weddings than I can count. I even ran my own makeup agency for a while.
Alongside my makeup work, I co-founded The EMJ Company with my mum, designing kit accessories for makeup artists and selling thousands of pieces worldwide. It gave me a real taste for building my own brand, something I'm excited to do again.
If this weird and wonderful career has taught me anything, it's that it really is about the journey, not the destination. (Cheesy, I know.)
